This webinar offers an overview of recent reporting by the Canadian Psychological Association concerning how psychology can address climate change, as well as understand climate anxiety (or “eco-anxiety”). It describes a compelling psychological construct that associates with pro-environmental attitudes and behaviour: sense of place—a combination of place attachment, place identity, and place dependence.
It closes with a discussion about how sense of place can link to the physical and psychosocial benefits of nature before a question period allows audience members to share their insights.
